Basic Hip Hop Dictionary

1 and 2: Turntables, as in the two turntables that DJ's use.

187: Californian penal code number for homicide. The police in California uses the penal code numbers as shorthand on the radio.

20: 1.Twenty dollar bag of marijuana 2. 20 inch rims on car wheels.

211: California Penal code for armed robbery.

5 0: A police officer, from the television series Hawaii Five-O. The word is used mainly in East LA.

Barrio: Spanish for neighborhood.

BG: Baby gangsta, as opposed to OG.

Bird: 1. Kilo. Specifically, cocaine. 2. English slang for 'girl'.

Block: 1. A street or city block. 2. A prison cellblock

Bones: 1. Cigarettes 2. Dominos 3. Dollars

Boo: Girlfriend or boyfriend.

Bounce: To leave, to get up, to break.

Bubble: To have your career finally rise to the top.
